Dental phobias and dental anxiety are very common. Our goal is to ease your anxiety and make dental work as comfortable and painless as possible. Our team starts by creating an atmosphere of compassion and empathy for patients with dental fears. We are happy to answer any questions or address concerns you may have before your procedure. We have access to a full library of dental education videos to help you understand your diagnosis and recommended treatment. Our staff is also highly trained to help patients feel more comfortable in the dental chair. We utilize a variety of anesthesia and sedatives to keep you calm and relaxed for your dental procedures, so always discuss dental fears with us if you feel that you need extra care. For most dental restorative and cosmetic procedures and some preventative periodontal cleanings, Dr. Ben or our anesthesia-certified hygienist, Amy, will give a topical and local anesthetic to numb the area and ensure you are comfortable before and during the procedure.
Dr. Ben can also prescribe an anti-anxiety drug, such as diazepam (Valium) to be taken before your dental procedures or nitrous oxide (laughing gas) can be used for your appointment to help relax and calm you before your appointment. We ensure that you leave with post-operative instructions for fast healing and medications to help with any discomfort. Our staff will check in with you after your procedure to ensure you are recovering well and see if you have any questions or concerns.
